The suspended ceiling that cools

For years, we’ve been helping homes and businesses stay warmer and more energy efficient with suspended ceilings. Now REHAU is helping advertising icon Saatchi & Saatchi use its suspended ceilings to heat and cool its office space.

The key to the success of REHAU’s CoolBoard system comes from the network of pipes installed above the standard gypsum ceiling tiles, effectively turning the ceiling into one large air conditioner, albeit one without the ground level draughts, dust or obstructions of standard office air conditioners.

The system creates a consistent cooling effect across the surface area of the suspended ceiling, which is why contractor ISG is installing it within Saatchi & Saatchi’s newly-constructed 100,000 sq ft, six-storey building at 40 Chancery Lane. The system has also been successfully installed at the Crystal, Siemens’ Sustainable Cities Initiative, in London’s Royal Victoria Dock.
